Stone Avenue Elementary School is located on 5111 Stove Avenue Jurupa, CA 91752 and was originally built in 1993, with portables added in 1997, and a 2-story building added in 2016. Stove Avenue Elementary currently sits on 9.24 site acreage with 56,285 square feet of building area. There are 16 buildings on site with 1-story buildings and a 2-story building, built of conventional wood frame structure on concrete slab, stucco and aluminum window facades. The portables are prefabricated wood frame structures and Gable roofs with wooden decking, wood siding and aluminum window facades.
Stone Avenue opened in September in 1993 with an enrollment of 467 students and has grown to a current enrollment of 807 students in grades TK-6. Our Stone Avenue family is comprised of: 31 classroom teachers, 2 full time intervention teachers, 1 Resource Specialist, along with 23 support staff members. Approximately 67.55 % of our students are on free or reduced lunch. Stone Avenue Elementary was recognized as a Title 1 Academic Achievement School in 2009, 2010 and 2013.
Stone Avenue’s Dual Immersion program is designed to develop bilingualism and biliteracy in English and in Spanish. This is a voluntary program. Instruction is provided by highly trained and specialized teachers. Students learn California standards in all subject areas, and become linguistically and academically fluent in two languages. This year we will have two: Kinder First, Second, Third and Fourth grade Dual Immersion classes.
